It's messy, it stains and it's irritating! Yes, we get that a lot from leaked ink cartridges. There's nothing worse than seeing those blotch of ink stain on your printer and the thought that it wouldn't function once you feed some paper into its tray. Believe me, I've seen worst! I'm an amateur photographer and been using an HP inkjet printer and alternative HP ink cartridges since second grade.
I won't argue when it comes to how inexpensive inkjet printers may be these days, it's really a cost-effective solution for your printing tasks at home especially when it comes to printing images and photos like I always do. But when it leaks, that's when my affinity with my inkjet printer starts to lessen. Cleaning the printer and the ink cartridges takes a lot of my time--and the worst part is buying a new set of ink cartridges when the leaked printer ink cartridges are of no use anymore, altogether stalling the printing of my digital photos.
Yes, there's nothing more effective in ruining my day than that. But until now, that is after I stumbled upon Naftali Stern's blog, The Bohmerian, and saw The Stain Artwork made by Niall McClelland. The Stain is a series of paintings that was created by the Toronto-based artist using leaked printer cartridges ink.
Here, see it for yourself:
Seeing these works of art, I was utterly amazed how McClelland was able to produce these beautiful paintings out of those leaked ink cartridges I hate the most.
"These tie-dye meets kaleidoscope type images are really great, but I especially like that they have been created with ink that was otherwise destined to be used mechanically rather then so free flowing." described Naftali Stern on his post. "It reminds me to be more open and adapt to opportunities I may not have previously planned for myself."
Amazing, isn't it? Here are my two favorite pieces which really incorporates the kaleidoscope theme Stern was talking about:
Seriously, after looking at these paintings, it give me the best idea of what I should do the next time my ink cartridges leaks. I may not be a painter, but it takes an artist to see the beauty behind an artist work. So good luck to me! But of course, that doesn't mean I will look forward to the whole leaking ink cartridges part, it's just that this art piece gave me an alternative on how to turn that leaked ink cartridges into a work of art. But to avoid those leaking printer cartridges problems then I definitely suggest buying high-quality ink cartridges. Compatible and remanufactured ink cartridges are good too especially if you want to save on your printing expenses, just make sure to buy it on a trusted retailer like InkJetUniverse.com.
